Chiang Mai is about 700 km north of Bangkok , and it would take approximately 8 to 9 hours through by road. Here we’d like to suggest two options by road to Chiang Mai:
Private Vehicle :
If you would like to have a peace and comfortable trip with private space along the way to Chiang Mai and meanwhile feel local landscape, to rent a Private Vehicle will be the best option for you. Taking Phahon Yothin Highway from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, you will arrive Nimman Mai? Design Hotel after around 7 to 8 hours.
Public Bus :
If you are looking for the lowest fare (around 400 THB) to Chiang Mai, we’d like to suggest you to take a bus, even though most tourist buses have air conditioning, reclinable seats, and play movies. Buses from Bangkok to Chiang Mai depart every hour between 05:30 and 22:00 from Mo Chit (Northern) Station. Mo Chit is the last BTS station on the line. The bus takes roughly 10 hours. And from Chiang Mai Arcade Bus Station it will take 15-minutes-drive to Nimman Mai? Design Hotel by either local “songthaew” or taxi.

Unlike flying it's a genuine Thai experience which makes the journey as much a part of your trip as the destination with around 11 hours memorable time of enjoying Thai country landscape. Fare differs from THB 300 to 1,500 depending on the class.
Located less than 15 minutes drive from the city centre the Chiang Mai International Airport consists of a Domestic and an International terminal in a single building. To our hotel, Taxi will cost around 160 THB from Chiang Mai airport with approximate 15-mins-drive.

A direct flight from other countries to Chiang Mai will be the primary option for travellers who prefer time-saving and non-stop in Bangkok.
